It all started in November 2021 when Michelle and her friend Angela were joking around, complaining about Angela’s cousin constantly giving them unsolicited advice about relationships. In a moment of frustration, Michelle declared, “I’ve decided I’m not single anymore —I have a boyfriend named Samuel. I’ll call him Sammy for short.” From that day on, Michelle and Angela would laugh about her "boyfriend Sammy" and Angela would regularly check in, asking, “How’s Sammy?” Michelle would respond with, “He’s well,” and it became a private running joke.

Fast forward to late November 2021, when Michelle’s friend Cecil was at her house. While he was there, he received a FaceTime call from his cousin. Michelle was standing behind Cecil and only caught a glimpse of a man with a beard and a deep voice. Michelle overheard the conversation but didn’t think much of it, as she was busy staring at his beard! Cecil introduced Michelle to his cousin, and they exchanged brief pleasantries - however, he didn’t tell her his name.

On 18th December 2021, Michelle was Maid of Honour at her friend Claire’s wedding. While sitting down exhausted and eating, she saw a man walk into the room—again, the same man she had seen during that FaceTime call. He was one of the DJ’s. Michelle knew it was him, again exchanging pleasantries to one another. Michelle got up, danced, and even told him to “bring it” when she felt he wasn’t putting enough energy into his DJ set. After he finished his set, he packed up and left—without saying goodbye! But, the following day, Michelle saw that a “DJ Knowledge” had followed her on Instagram, and upon browsing his profile, she found out his name: Kwame.

In December 2021, things took an unexpected turn. Everyone, including Cecil and Claire, caught COVID, forcing Michelle to cancel her Christmas gathering. A few days later, Michelle saw that Cecil’s cousin, DJ Knowledge (Kwame), had posted a picture from Ghana on Instagram. She jokingly responded with a “well done!” Not realizing that Kwame had no idea why she was congratulating him for making it to Ghana (because Cecil hadn’t told him he had Covid), this small interaction sparked something bigger.

Confused and intrigued, Michelle wanted to know if Kwame was his first name or his Ghanaian name. She asked mutual friends, but they all confirmed his name was indeed Kwame. So, Michelle called Cecil for clarity, and that’s when Cecil revealed that his first name was Samuel—but they called him Sam. At that moment, Michelle couldn’t help but think, "He’s going to be my husband," because she had already manifested Samuel’s name months before.

Now, Michelle was determined to find a way to talk to Sam. After a few weeks of plotting with Cecil, Michelle finally sent him her phone number, late one night, and Sam immediately texted her. They spent hours texting, and the connection was undeniable. But still, Michelle wondered when he would take the next step and ask her out.

Then came the day that she would finally see him again: One Friday night, Michelle posted a picture of some food on her food page. Sam responded with “location?” and she replied with “North London.” Later, while sitting in her car after getting her hair done, she saw a car pull up outside her house. To her surprise, it was Sam—without even getting out of the car, he opened the boot and said “I’ve got you something. Go to the boot” It was flowers! He then said he had to leave, and off he went. She was in complete shock.

The Sunday after, Sam called Michelle to ask for directions to the B&M near her house….even though he was right outside it! He invited her to his house to watch Ozark, but Michelle had plans with Cecil, who she had arranged a blind date for. Michelle suggested that Sam come along, and that’s how they ended up going on their first (double) date. From that point on, things just clicked, and their connection grew stronger.
